FHIR Transformer
Translates Legacy Format
Flexible
Open Source
The healthcare industry generates large amounts of data for each patient via different sources that are often incompatible. Lack of consistent standards in clinical data collection limits the value of electronic health records and impairs the accuracy and efficiency of healthcare diagnostics.
akedis Innovations has therefore launched akedis FHIR Transformer, an open source project that helps healthcare organizations benefit from the new FHIR Standard. This software translates several legacy formats (e.g. HL7v2) into FHIR resources and communicates them to a target system (synedra AIM, general FHIR Server, Kafka, etc.).
Already deployed in several university hospitals, akedis FHIR Transformer converts a variety of HL7 ORU reports (Microbiology, Virology, Radiology, Laboratory, Endoscopy, etc.) into FHIR DiagnosticReports and can be used to create Conditions and Procedures from HL7 BAR messages.
The philosophy of akedis Innovations is to make innovation accessible to all. To this end, akedis FHIR Transformer can be used free of charge. Likewise, new contributors are always welcome.
